It is of no surprise to anyone that Greene County has been a target for second home owners for many years; those who are searching for a respite from the hustle and bustle of downstate living, or are simply searching for a 'playground' with skiing, golfing, boating etc. However, now I wonder if the market might make a twist - I see many buyers now seeking to vacate some of their current homes in Manhattan or Westchester county or Long Island, etc., etc, en route to making a home in Greene County their primary residence in an attempt to cut their expenses overall. By the time they add up the taxes, the cost of housing, etc., etc. it may end in significant savings!
